Day 4's prompt of the Daily Writing Monthly Challenge was Changes State/Transformation. I struggled with it when I thought about liquids changing to solids. Then I began to think of it a little more literally. I listed all of the states I moved to as a kid, and countries now as an adult.. Then I thought about the transformations I made as I transitioned to each place... Utah- from egg to womb to human
Washington DC- from west to east; from mormon to baptist/catholic Virginia- from family to military North Carolina- from the black kid to the mixed kid Washington DC- from dependent adolescent to dependent adult Florida- from bachelors to masters New York- from student to teacher South Africa- from teacher to Fulbright Thailand- from teacher to expat Thailand------------------------ To change states is my constant To transform is my norm To stay still is my achilles heel I am a master of my field Changing forms as will I am a novice at being mindful, A novice at being still.
