I grabbed 'State of the Union Address' out of the bag- happy reading!
Good Evening Kings and Queens,
I am honored to be sharing this box with you, tonight. Four sturdy walls held together to keep all the things in and keep the rest of the things out. For some reason you all decided to elect me to decide what those "things" should be.
How you've come to associate me with a word like leader is beyond me. But enough of my humbled yet insecure ramblings. *Breathe in- Breathe Out- murmurs mantra-It is what is it. *
Ok, I am ready to begin.
Tonight, we are here to determine where our energy will be directed this year. Will we focus on the decoys of mass media like separation policies, creating fear of your fellow human because of imaginary lines, drawn by men whose ethics were questionable based on their caveman ways of invading spaces of native lands and killing those with ethnic faces.
Or maybe we should focus on the baby mama drama and make crayon signs telling women who should and should not be having babies. Claiming 'For life' while their trigger happy fingers get ready to strike- not the baby, heaven's no, just the mother- whose life, no longer matters when she no longer chooses to be a vessel to birth life.
Or Trespassing, there is a safe one- within the lines of our nation we draw lines of private property and when we've forced a woman to give birth to a child she cannot financially or physically support we throw her partner in prison for trespassing when is trying to pay child support. Hold up society, what kind of games we playing?
How about- and this is a suggestion only- ignore the typos, poor word choice, faulty grammar and feel this next one-
Why don't we focus our energies on the looming issues that foreshadow the demise of our home. No, not the boxes that give us a false sense of security, but the round earth that is getting ready to evacuate us from her ever thinning windowpane. This speech is not mean tot be fearsome. It's not mean tot spark panic or incite riot. It's a call to action. Creative minds, we are here to manifest a solution to the problems created by generations before us. When will we learn our lesson as human beings? We have been polluting and uprooting as if we have nine lives to live but ka, that's not how this story will end...
So, let us use tonight to create a legacy worth remembering...
