A year ago, I wrote a love letter to writing . It was before we started writer's club, before we started this blog (see the previous post). It was this letter that I dedicated time, energy and commitment to writing. This year at the Writer's Retreat 'Love in Letters,' we were given the prompt: Write to your passion. It was cool to write this letter a year letter and to reflect on how I've grown as a writer! Enjoy!
It's been a year. What is time to you?
The last time we spoke, I apologized to you. I made promises I knew I probably wouldn't or couldn't keep. But to my surprise we've grown. As our roots have reached deeper and sought nourishment, we've sprouted. I yearned for us to be so many things and it's not what I expected but it's so much more. It's intuitive, structure but fluid. Moving like a swing in the gentle breeze. It's full of life and laughter, yet sometimes somber, and grounding reality. No matter what it is, it is always cathartic and powerful. Never the same. Different flows dependent on the souls that fill the spaces in the creative spaces we have created together.
I always knew we were both powerful but I underestimated out strength when we worked together. Striding toward each other and our goals like proud cocks man heading to a chicken show in Khanom, Thailand. I imagine us a year from now, what will we be? I don't want to limit us, so I will let us be what we are meant to be and enjoy each present moment with as much tranquility and authenticity that I can muster as a woman still with one foot in a materialistic society and a another disappearing into the Celestine Prophecy.
I do know this, I continue to choose you, Writing, my love. I continue to lean into you, learn you, better myself for you, for us.Thank you for what we've started. Until next time.
